Public Speaking Skills for Researchers & Scientists
Learn how to reduce nerves, share your research and ideas with confidence, and become a compelling public speaker whilst still being yourself.
About this course
You have a message to share and you’re ready to change hearts, minds, and drive action. No slides, not props, just you.
Although presenting and public speaking have many things in common, a presentation is more about sharing data with props and additional content like a slide deck, and public speaking is about you getting up in front of an audience, being yourself, and sharing your message in a way that moves people to act.
If you’re ready to share your research and you want your speaking time to count, then our public speaking training can help.
This course will cover:
- How to plan what you want to say and how you plan to say it using our unique tools
- Your performance: enhancing your natural style so that you remain authentic and engaging
- Visual and vocal energy
- Cultural awareness
- Non-verbal cues
- Coping with anxiety
- Working with your audience
You’ll have multiple opportunities to practise your skills in front of a small group on the day, get on-the-spot-feedback, and you’ll leave with videos of yourself for future study.
This workshop is suitable for scientists, researchers, and subject-matter experts who have to speak in public and want their speaking time to count.
The goal of this workshop is for participants to become stronger public speakers who can share their research and science clearly, factually, and in a way that is memorable and engaging, too.
